Series 1-2 Waves

In January 2008, Character Options revealed a brand new wave of Series 1 and Series 2 figures.

Although still in individually series branded backs, a decision was made to ship a mixture of Series 1 and Series 2 figures within one case and under one item number. Series 1 figures would no longer be shipped in individual cases nor would Series 2.

This policy would allow stores to get a mixture of characters without ordering a whole box of Series 1 or 2 figures. It would also potentially secure the Series 1 and 2 range being present in a majority of stores instead of one Series being dropped in favor of the other - often seen in stores during 2007 after the introduction of Series 3.

In turn this would allow many collectors to get hold of their favourite characters from all series instead of a pick and mix range chosen by stores.

While the first wave of Series 1-2 (Series 1-2A) hit stores up and down the country, an exclusive range of Series 1-2 figures (Series 1-2AW) was released in UK chain Woolworths. The Woolworths range saw a mixture of brand new figures, never seen in any other range along with some re-issues with "tweaked" features. The range for around 2 weeks featured in a promotional offer which saw the figures placed on a Buy One Get One Free offer before returning to a normal RRP of £6.99.
