Question - When Is A Wave, A Wave?

Answer...
A Wave, technically refers to an assortment of carded figures released at one particular time.
In 2006, Character Options released a total of 3 waves; Wave 1, Wave 2 and Wave 3 although in 2007 the company behind the successful range took the decision to "realign" the figures into Series packaging.
Within each series are waves, but instead of taking a number form, each wave is lettered, for example Series 1 - Wave a, Series 1 - Wave b, Series 1 - Wave c, etc.!
On most figures can identify each wave from the figures pictured on the back of each card, along with the artwork number. For example if we look at the bottom of a series 3 pack, just under the barcode, we can see the Art Work (AW) number!

AW REF: 00863E-240807-VIA
The above code refers to Series 3 - Wave (e), followed by the date of the artwork dd/mm/yy (not the release date in the shops).
To find out the assortment of each wave and and their release dates, please see our checklists for the latest!

Question - Why Are My Figures Growing “Mould”?

Answer...
From time to time, you may come across a figure which appears to have "mould" growing on the surface, also known as "Figure Frosting" - however don’t be alarmed!
It is believed that some materials used in the manufacturing process of Doctor Who action figures seep a grey residue which resembles mould/dust. This residue settles on the surface of some figures when exposed to moisture or other plastic types.
While the problem is know to only four 5" figures (Series 1 Auton Twin Pack, Series 2 Clockwork Man Black, Series 2 Clockwork Man Blue and the Series 2 Ood), it can easily be removed by washing the figure/accessories with warm soapy water.
